Here is my current model, a Kaman HH-43B Huskie from Mach2 in scale 1/72. A few shots of the inner scratch built details: seats, main and upper console exhaust and rear doors...
Amazing detail Pierre! One question, did you glue the copper wires of the seats or did you solder the pieces?
Looking forward to see more of your work.
well the pictures are very clear , fantastic....very small/nice Heli!!!. Well I'll keep watching the advances. About the canopy, I didnt know that is posible to do it with a toaster, smart!!.....
Tim has some pics of my Mach2 HU-25 "retriever" to post, while seeing these pics and if you know this kit you will easily imagine the time I spent on it...! but when you love..you don't count
Hello Vitor,
In fact, I ulse almost everything I can find..i.e. most of the time, packing material.. you can re-use almost everything..as christmas approachs (and if you have children..) look at all the toys, they are often wrapped in transparent plastic..the only thing is that you should not use a too thin sheet..
Hope this will help
Cheers
Wow Pierre,
That canopy is very nice. I use the stove plate to heat the plastic. I use 1.75 mm PVC. I model mostly 1/72 myself. When I scratchbuilt my my first Rooivalk and got to the canopy, my wife had to help me press in the "step" in the canopy with a blunt knife while I stretched the hot PVC over the master. It gets hot after a few attempts.
Keep up the great work!!!
Well, I've had the 1/72 CSH-2 Rooivalk in production since 2003. Recently I upgraded the kit to the latest variant with new CHAFF/Flare dispensers, a few antennas and "lumps & bumps. WIll be released soon. Watch this site as a review is pending by one of our members. I just love gunships!
Pierre You are a master, that's landing gears are fabolous!!!!. I read you post about the color, and you have many option will be you choice...just let me tell you that also you have the camo scheme, maybe you can take a look at that. Anyway the work is Fantastic keep in touch.
Hi all, Here is a little update on my "South sea sue", I stopped working on this kit for a while...just the time to renew with inspiration and avoid throwing her away.
I had to rebuild the rear undercarriage (it was too high the first time) and the tail (accidentaly broken..)
The wheels are home made resin and I add the skis. I'm now working on the rotor heads and blades.
Hi Pierre. Thanks for posting you pics, I hauled my model out a couple of weeks ago, with the intention of finishing it after the start some 15+ years ago. I had done some work in the cabin and just added the booms. All this in a moment of panic! Well, panic over the kit is safely back in the box, in the hope that some kind kit manufacurer will produce it in 48th scale. Keep up the good work. Regards Heloman
Pierre his work is simply fantastic! I repeat Francisco: "You are a master !!!".
Thanks to share step by step their work. I am starting to detail my models, is an inspiring view the born of a perfect job.

Thanks for the kind words, here are some new pics of this project started on august...2008!!!
Blades and rotor heads are almost finished, exhaust was rebuilt using metal and side doors were vacuformed. I'm working on the hoist but I have no good pictures of it, so..
Pierre, that is an amazing Pedro you have there. The level of detail is outstanding in this scale. Don't worry about the model taking so long. I have a 1/72 OH-6A kit on the go since June 2008! It is worth taking your time with it.
About this HH 43, I found it could be a nice idea to display this helo with its special equipement i.e. the Fire Suppression Kit (FSK) so I'm scrtachbuilding it..I have only be abble to estimate its sizes..here are some pics, what you see measures 20x15x16 mm and it's not yet finished.
Hello. My name is Roland LaFrance. I was a U.S. Air Force firefighter in the 1970's, and am now a disabled firefighter. I have long been interested in the HH-43 Huskie. I built my first model of it while I was attending U.S.A.F. Fire Protection School at Chanute AFB, Illinois in 1972. Although I did see active HH-43s while on TDY at Andersen AFB, Guam in '73, I never got to see any FSKs up close.
I am in the process of building a second model of the HH-43. I have long wanted to scratchbuild a fire suppression kit to go with it. This is the Testors 1/32 scale HH-43 kit, plus I bought the Cobra super detail set. I was going to ask you where you had gotten your specifications for the FSK when I saw that you used the one way I have to build one, and that is by estimating sizes, by comparing sizes of various items on the HH-43, and knowing the scale, turning that into figures. I would rather find the specifications than only estimate, but you have shown me how great it can be to scratchbuild one, even without official specs. Thanks for a terrific model, and new ideas on creating an FSK in 1/32 scale. Can you at lest tell me what specifications you came up with in estimating size to build yor FSK? It would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!
Due to work, I'm currently somewhere in Africa for 6 months..and I do not have my models here..If I'm correct, I mainly foccussed on the "main ball" (don't know how to name it..I guess it's a tank..) to estimate the dimensions of the FSK. By comparison of the only few pics I have, I found that a diameter of 12mm in 1/72 would not be so bad..Starting from this point, I decided that the small one will be about 6mm in diameter.. and the others parts were made with the only idea to obtain something "harmonious" to my eyes..hope you understand what I mean with my poor english. Sorry to be unable to help you more...but I was unable to find correct/real specs over the net for this important equipement..that's sad.. so if there is here a specialist...
Pierre, your work on this Pedro is inspiational stuff.
Roland, I don't know if you have it but Schiffer published an excellent book on the H-43 by Wayne Mutza. It has a few good diagrams of the FSK as well as plenty of photos that might be helpful.

Hi Roland,
Thanks for your kind words,
Due to work, I'm currently somewhere in Africa for 6 months..and I do not have my models here..If I'm correct, I mainly foccussed on the "main ball" (don't know how to name it..I guess it's a tank..) to estimate the dimensions of the FSK.
