Eurocopter AS350 BA Ecureuil

Hi here is my latest creation, a Royal Australian Navy AS-350B Ecureuil Squirrel. Mostly used as a training chopper these days and might be replaced soon by Augusta A109.

I used the 1/48 Heller kit, the Decals are from Hawkeye Models (the markings are of HMAS SYDNEY) and some seat belts, tie down shackles, pilot and co pilot seat panels from a PE Eduard set I had laying around and a bit of styrene parts to add steps, aerials, ditch floats etc.., I also cut some small panels of wet and dry sand paper to put onto steps and cabin as the non slip parts. Cotton was also used as the tail stabilise cable.

The paint I used was Tamiya light ghost gray, orange and flat black, I enjoyed this build, the decals were top notch, the only thing I realised after I had started to put it together is that the cockpit is a dark gray or almost a gun metal colour.
