Mil Mi-24 Hind-A

Here are a few pics of my 1:72 Hasegawa Mil Mi-24 Hind-A. Aside from the engine particle separators (which came a snap together Monogram Mi-24 Hind-D), the model was built out of box. The Ethiopian Air Force roundels came from an ARC member, while the other markings came from the spare decal bin.

The finish is a combination of Humbrol and Model Master enamels (the sand color is a Humbrol mix of Hu103 and Hu94, the drab color is Model Master Russian Earth Gray, and the bottom is Russian Underside Blue). After applying the base colors, white was added to each color and then reapplied to define the camouflage pattern and to also fade the finish a bit.

After applying a Future gloss coat, the panel lines were accentuated with a thinner wash. The Dot Filter technique was used to weather the finish a bit further. Everything was sealed up with Acryl Dull Coat. Stretched sprue antennas complete the build.
