Bell AH-1S(Mod) Cobraby Derek Gibson (1:48 Fujimi)Here is my 1:48 scale AH-1S (mod)/AH-1Q . The only thing i see that would make this a "Q" is the engine inlets. I wanted to build one of these so bad, but nobody makes a mold of one so here's what I had to do... I started by using the body from the Fujimi Ah-1J , Monogram AH-1S, and Cobra Company's AH-1G conversion. I began by cutting the J's nose in half and mating it with the Monograms H.u.d. I have only seen a couple with this nose thats why I decided to go with it. The most common nose and HUD would be the Italeri's (AH-1W). I used the carbonate blades from the Mono kit. Also the stub wings, the m-261 19 shot rocket pods, tow sight, gunner instrument panel, skids and tail tail rotor came from the Mono kit. I took the front canopy ?supports? from the Italeri kit. I also used a shroud around the grenade launcher. I used a writing pen inside for the launcher and shroud. Thanks to Floyd Werner for his amazing T.O.W. racks also! I used Model Master paints and dull coat. Added some "new" panels as well with the different color drab. The last shot is the "duo", my AH and OH... Hope you enjoy the build! More pictures
