The Kamov KA-50 Hokum is a single-seat combat helicopter of the Russian armed forces. Hokum is the NATO code name, in russian the Ka-50 is also designatedas Oboroten. The Hokum was developed in the 80ies and is in service service since 1995. Special about the Ka-50 is that the main rotors are moving in opposite directions, which gives the helicopter great manouverability. Contrary to other combat helicopters the Ka-50 is flown by only by a pilot.
I already built this model of the Ka-50 a few years ago. I built the Italeri kit "out of the box". The markings I applied are from the demonstrator machine. As it is a demonstrator machine heavy weathering was not necessary.
