1/72 AModel Mil Mi-6 Hook

The heavy transport helicopter Mil Mi-6 Hook was a designed by the Mil design bureau and had its first flight in September 1957. The Hook was built in large numbers for both military and civil roles.

I took the challenge and started the construction of the 1/72 Amodel kit which is very impressive in this scale. The 280 pieces and 15 pages require a lot of time and sanding paper. Dry fitting the pieces is a must but after removing the flash the fit of the parts is actually pretty good.

The model was painted using different gray tones from Xtracolor. The red air intake covers are made from scratch and provide some extra colour.

Great Mi-6 Bernhard! The two figures next to the model give a good impression on the size. But I still think 1/72nd scale is small ;-)
