1/72 Revell Sikorsky S-64 Skycrane

Here are some pictures of my Sikorsky CH-54 Tarhe "skycrane" from Revell in scale 1/72. I have buit it in 2003 and had to add a lot of details to the engines, because the kit is very poor in this area (this is a pity, because visibible engines is the most specific and interesting part of this helo). I chose the decoration of a helicopter based in Germany in 1962-65 during performances tests (but also to find some civilian potential buyers !). It was used to lift threes in Bavarian forests. The old Opel Blitz is an ESCI kit and also in scale 1/72.

Wonderfull!

You did a very very nice job with these kits and also with the photographs you took, Its so nice to look things as you did!!!!

I have three in my stash and just one waiting the day to be finished. I have the same opinion as you about engine detail, but in AIRLINERS.NET have just found a lot of photos to do the detail in the engines and the airframe, and in ARC you can find info of a guy in France that made a Scratch one in 1/48. If I can find the address of the site I will post it,  Maybe in the near future you will do another one or it could help the other guys.

Well, thank you for your kind comment!

I knew the french guy : it's Philippe Dognon. I met him few years ago. The pictures of his 1/48 scratch model help me a lot when I needed information about engine details!

Thanks a lot, yes hé's the guy!

What a good fortune you had!!!!!! I sent him a mail when he published in ARC his work and he replied me about all the problems and advices with the Revell kit, and said an old Aurora offering was good, did you see this one???  (Reallly I am very happy with the Revell, because I built one in 1980's when it was made by Revell in  Great Britain)

Have a Wonderful 2009, plenty of health, work and models to do!!!!!!

Luis Alfonso.
