Here are some pictures of the Belvedere I have finished last month. It is a Bristol 192 Belvedere HC-1 of the Aeroplane & Armament Experimental Establishment at Boscombe Down at the end of 1959. The kit is from Airfix and in scale 1/72.
You've managed to overcome the kits major flaw, that being the cockpit glass that comes in 2 pieces, split right down the middle. The Belvedere that I've seen at the Manchester Science Museum has the bottom of the glass as one continuous "bubble" with no stansion separating the right and left halves, however yours doesn't look incorrect. I might do this to my kit to cover up the join. Well done for making such an excellent kit form such an old model. It must be at least a good 40 years old by now, probably more!! I have a good pic but i can't paste it!!
You made a good model out of a very poor kit. I made one of these a long time ago and it was a lot of work to end up with something that was very mediocre. You've certainly done a good job here - well done.
Hey nice kit, I'm converting my Belvedere as well finding it difficult to find a small enough mesh to make the later intakes on the undersides :) very wel done
Fantastic job on this very old Airfix kit, congratulations! I have had two goes at this kit and failed every time, I have always had endless trouble with parts fit (fuselage halves), calming down the heavy riveting, and of course, that awful canopy moulding! Not just the dreaded join, but I have also had difficulties painting the framing (there is no real guides in the moulding) and aligning it with the fuselage, but you have done it superbly, I may be inspired to have a third go at this kit! Third time lucky? As an aircraft it is significant and makes for handsome model of a unique subject if done well like yours. Did you use the decal for the blue stripe or did you paint it on? I’ve tried both and masking and painting the stripe provided me with the best results so far. Once again, congratulations, an excellent job on what is a very challenging kit. This kit certainly isn’t a Tami-gawa ‘pour-glue-in-the-box- and-shake-it, out-comes-a-model’ type kit, it requires real skill and patience and has to ‘built’ rather than just constructed. Incidentally, I too do the interior with foil, I roll the knurled handle of a craft knife over the foil to create the quilted effect.
Sadly this wonderful modeler and gentleman is no more between us, he has leaving this world and his family, his wife, children and us his forum community friends on 22-02-2009, as in a sorpressive way he was brought down by a ruptured aneurysm as were the bad news given us by Xanathos. But his nice way of enjoying the hobby and the messages we exchanged with him together with all the proofs left here of his master techniques left some part of him in this world to share with all the people who knew him and to all the newcomers who didn't too.
May your wonderful admiration words about his many artworks he shared go to him to the eternity and paraphrasing the words of Steve: "All of us may have a long time before we reach his level of creativity, so he has set a standard that will be difficult to beat". Thank you a lot Didier Peilon, many thanks in his name Helicow.

One should not believe, what
interior
Thank you for your kind comment !
The interior is made with some aluminium foil I have found on some champain blottles.
Well Done!

I hope I can do the same
I hope I can do the same justice to the Airfix kit of this helicopter that sits waiting in my stash.
Though it may be a long time before I reach your level of creativity. You have set a standard that will be difficult to beat.
