This is the 1/72 Revell Westland Sea King Mk.41 model that I've built almost OOB. The aerial's thread was added, also some details of hoist the was scratchbuilt. A beautiful kit from Revell.
Your Seaking looks very nice. One thing though, and maybe its just the lighting, but the guy on the ground in the second to last picture is awfully glossy. You might want to give him a flat coat.
A nice looking model of a nice kit, Revell Germany sometimes do some very good helo kits. Thanks for sharing your model with us.
For anyone building the Seaking an inexpensive reference book is Wing & Wheels Publications Westland Seaking in Detail, covers all the Westland built version, ISBN 80-902677-6-9, some internal detail and colour profiles. They also do the Lynx and OH-6/500's. Heloman
Thank you all for kind words about my modest work.
About colours used. AFAIR, green was Humrol 105, dark gray - Revell 77, light brown mixed from 2 or 3 colours, don't remember what exactly, that was 7 years ago .
very nice model, congrats. I have the same kit but unfortunately I have soaked the instructions. I'm wonder if, maybe, you can make a scan to yours and send them to me at: aviabill [at] yahoo [dot] com
Thank you very much, and again my respects for your work,
A very nice lady called Annette Mortimer - amortimer [at] revell [dot] de - from Revell has sent me a pdf of the instruction sheet for the Sea King Mk6. I'm sure she could supply a pdf copy of the MK41.
This is the best-painted camo-MFG5- Seaking I've ever seen! To see the 'real' finish of your model, I allowed me to rework two of your pictures, and the result is amazing! have a look:
In my opinion, the colors you took are very close to the actual SeaKings! Congratulations!
