Hi Martin:

Congratulations...You really did a gem with so little, I could  imagine what you can do when have plenty of info about the subject!!!

Its a labour of love, devotion and patience the job you have done, but the right words are sumarized by our other colleagues....simply wonderful!!!!

Cheers,

Westland Westminster

Even as a small boy, I still have vivid memories of seeing the Westminster participate at the Farnborough shows in 1959 and '60 in its skeletal form, but in 1961 both it and the Rotodyne only performed there during the week and did not remain for the public days, so I didn't see it in its covered form. I want to build one of these also and would appreciate some tips on whats size brass rod you used and how you produced the glazed nose section. I am curious to know why you painted it light grey with a dark blue nose and tail, as both Westminsters were gloss dark olive green and the one that was covered was silver?

Hi Adrian:

This is a very obscure helicopter and the info about her is very scarce, so I was wondering if you have info about this machine and if you could share the paint scheme. I am also looking about details for constructing both versions too and info like you have would be very important for such a project.

All the best,

Luis Alfonso

Re Westminster

Hi Luis,

I have some b/w photos and a  couple of poor quality colour slides. Scale drawings can be found if you 'Google' Westland Westminster. Both machines were gloss olive green when they were in their skeletal form and I'm hoping Martin reads this and shares some of his tips in building. I need to know what size brass rod he used and if it is welded or glued together?  I am assuming he made a balsa wood 'template' for the nose and heated an acetate sheet over it to make the glazed nose.

Thank you very much Adrian,

i have found a plan but it was in less than 1/72, so I'll try to make it in this scale and guess the rod diameter, I sent a mail  to contact Martin telling we are both interested in replicate this magnificent job and telling something related with our doubts, maybe he answers here or if he answer me, I would like if you can send me a mail here    laaguirre6104 [at] yahoo [dot] com [dot] mx  in which to get in touch with you and share the info he gave us about this extraordinary machine,

All the best,

Luis Alfonso
