Mil Mi-12/B-12 Homer Amodel

AModel from the Ukraine released their new Mil V-12 helicopter in August 2008. The Homer is the largest helicopter ever built and will be huge in 1/72. The Mi-12 features the only two-rotor transverse scheme ever built by Mil eliminating the need for a tail rotor. The twin engines were taken together with the rotors from the Mil Mi-6 and duplicated on the Mi-12.

Holy moly, an Mi-12 kit!

I wonder how much room will be needed for that behemoth!?!

Something kinda sad about the way that things have come to be. Desensitized to everything, what became of subtlety?

Dimensions in 1/72

JAWA 1976-77 says span over rotor tips is 219ft 10in or 67,00 m. That's equivalent to a whopping 36,6in or 93 cm in 72nd scale. This compares to a wing span of 230ft for the Convair B-36, so Amodel's V-12 is only a few centimeters shy of the Revell/Monogram B-36 kit in size.

AModel M12

I want I need it! But at $300 NZ (by the time it comes from Hannants) it will have to wait until my wife isn't looking!

But it is great that they are willing to risk it to put out such an amazing helicopter. I will only build one. I did have a made rush to the head thinking about an armed gunship!! But.....
