Royal Navy Modern Helicopter Combat Crew

The Aviation Workshop is releasing a new range of Support Sets including figures, vehicles and accessories in both 1/72 and 1/48 Scales.

The first set is this 1/72 scale 'Royal Navy Modern Helicopter Combat Crew' suitable for your Lynx, Sea Kings or Merlins. It  includes 2 Pilots, a doorgunner, a loadmaster and a ground crew member checking the aircraft.

Royal Navy helo crews tend to have their visors down most of the time due to wind kicked up by the rotors. There's a crew chief signalling from the door, a door gunner hooking up to a static line, an pilot interacting wih the other crew men. Lots of different ways of displaying these to make a great diorama so the combinations are endless and they all still look like they're interacting. The pilots have cloth visor covers stowed on top of thier helmets as is normal practise.

They're all wearing heavy rubber impregnated cloth "Immersion suits" and the door gunner and load master are wearing a static safety belt. The deck/ground crew member checking aircraft is also included.

The pictures are taken by James Raynor who is mastering the figures. This was released at the IPMS Nationals 2009 in Telford.
