1/48 Chinook HC. Mk.1 Revell 04641

Revell of Germany released a Chinook HC. Mk.1. It is not just a reboxing of previously released Italeri Chinooks, it also includes additional new parts for this specific version. Revell also changed the colour of five sprues from gray to khaki and the Revell kit offers only two decal options instead of six variants included in the Italeri Chinook kit.

The overall detail of the kit is fine which means that you can get a nice model by building it out of the box. The kit has the same flaws as the Italeri kit: Not very decent panellines and the big cockpit window is too thick so its nearly impossible to have a good view into the model.

The large decalsheet contains markings for No. 18 Sqn Gütersloh and No. 7 Sqn Odiham. Both wearing a special scheme celebrating the 75th Anniversary of  the Royal Air Force in 1990. The box arts shows the Chinook of No. 18 Squadron.

Chinook No. 7 Sqn Odiham

Hi, I was looking for a picture of the anniversary scheme of the Chinook of No. 7 Sqn Odiham. Can somebody point me to a picture of the original or a picture of the Revell decalsheet would be great as well. Thank you very much, Erik

Chinook 75 years RAF

Hi Erik, I found following pictures on Airliners.net, I think it must be this one. The special Markings as seen on the boxart are in my opinion much nicer.

You can do tis scheme in both 1/144 with the Revell kit and 1/72 by using Modeldecal set number 99 with a suitable 1/72 kit.
