Great!

Great!

I'm afraid you won't create those in 1/72, will you?

Thanks

If you only knew the pain it was to get right in 1/35th scale.  LOL  I'm afraid I will not do them in either 1/48th or 1/72nd scale.

Although 1/48th scale would be nice. Gary

question

besides the turned exhausts, arent there other mods that need to be done to convert the whiskey cobra to a Zulu?? I know the zulu has 4 rotor blades too. the zulu looks way beefier..

Yes, turned exhausts are not just on Z though...

The Zulu is a very different aircraft.  It is almost completely different than a W.  Just the turned exhausts are used on late model Ws though.  This set is designed to make a W with turned exhausts.

About my beautiful babies

Currently any unit in the marine corps that has AH1W models still will have this exuast upgrade, its a fairly new one but a "TD" such as that is changed rapidly through the airwing.  I am with HMLA-773 we have not gotten the new Zulus yet, but we fly AH1w I love them so much, they are remarkable aircraft.  I am looking for a resin kit of the Cobra Engine if anyone has made one for the Academy kit, I want to buy this kit and make it as detailed as possible.  If anyone knows any links where I can find more resin parts for this kit let me know, I will surely be getting this exuast resin.

new ALE pods

you would not happen to know if any one has made a resin kit for the new Dual ALE pods for the stub wings and if not can you make them? if you need a reference of the new pod I can send you a bunch of pictures. as of the exuast change they started changing the old exuast out in 2006 and is now complete through the marine corps.

thank you

RE: 1/35 AH-1W after-market items

To the best of my knowledge, there are no after-market engines available for this model.

You're pretty much on your own to detail it.

Besides Floyd's exhaust, Cobra Company makes a nice NTS update set:

Verlinden has this set:

This one has a good looking resin 20mm gun, ammo box, and a few other useful items, but you'll want the Cobra set for a cockpit.

Eduard make several PE sets:

AMS has FOD covers:

Master Model makes an excellent brass M197 barrel assembly:

D-Toys has a crew set.

The seated pilot is good, but the standing female pilot's pose is a little stiff:

Sorry, the link for the AMS FOD covers is incorrect.

Here is the correct link.

Well that link for the AMS FOD's does not appear to be functioning properly.
